Whooping cough is coming back, and can kill infants (who don't get the vaccine until they are a few months old. Last year there was big outbreak in NY. It is included as part of the tetanus and diptheria vaccine now (didn't used to) so you'd also be updating that imporant vaccine at the same time. Please get your vaccine. Wouldn't you feel bad if you accidentally killed a baby because you didn't?
