Calista Started Walking Today!

We are so proud of Calista Bunny. Here are a couple of little movies of her on this very momentous day. I feel blessed that I saw her take her first step this morning around 7:15 am. By the time I got home from work, she was a real pro!

Peek-A-Boo with Aunt Kirsten

While we were in Brooklyn, Calista discovered that she knows how to play Peek-A-Boo with Aunt Kirsten. It was a very exciting moment. She had so much fun that she fell asleep while Kirsten was bouncing her on her knee. Really super cute. Poor thing got tuckered out by all the excitement of New York. :-)

No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn!

Calista loved hanging out with Michelle and Ian. A baby girl with good taste, she immediately took a liking to Ian's amazing cooking, and to our surprise discovered she can't get enough of his roasted yellow peppers! (I do agree they were fabulous.) Thanks again for hosting us and letting us take over your awesome brownstone for the weekend! We owe you big time.

Prospect Park Zoo

On our last full day in NY, Michelle, Kirsten and I took Calista to the sweetest little zoo in Brooklyn, the Prospect Park Zoo. Once again, Calista began by sleeping, but soon awoke to enjoy the animals. Personally, I fell in love with the seal, kangaroo (with a baby in its pouch!) and the porcepine. Also the tamarin monkeys. It actually started to snow when we were there, but soon cleared up. I can't wait to come back when Calista is older so she can go on their "Discovery Trail" and pretend to be a prairy dog and see how far she can jump -- as far a flea? As far as a kangaroo?

Children's Museum of Manhattan

Turns out museums are a great place to go when it's cold oustide. Scott took Calista here the last day of my conference. Scott reported that she liked climbing around on the play structures, but apparently was not at all interested in going through the tunnel. She's a very adventurous girl nonetheless!

Calista & The Big Apple

I had a work conference the last weekend in February, so Scott and Calista came with me. Scott lost his voice and wasn't feeling well, and Calista still had a cold, so it probably wasn't the best idea to go to NYC where it was freezing, but we did get to spend time with Mike and Eloise, our dear friends Michelle and Ian, and see my sister. Next time we'll come when it's warmer! Scott's parents took the train from Connecticut for the day and took little missy to The Natural History Museum. She slept for most of it, but woke up enough to see some pretty cool stuff!

Balloons and Bottles and Books

Three cute videos...

The Vannice Girls' Visit

My mom and sister stayed on after Calista's birthday for a day. We kicked things off by playing "How Big is Baby...So Big!"

Then Calista got down to business...

The next day my mom, sister and I took little missy to the playground across the street.

Afterwards we let her climb stairs -- possibly her #1 playtime activity!

Finally, Aunt Kirsten ended the day with reading a book from Amanda and Mirabella that Calista loves, "Love You Sun, Love You Moon." Love You Nonni and Love You Aunt Kirsten! Come back and visit soon! We miss you!

Mommy and Daddy at One Year - Love the 70s

OK, technically Scott is 11 months-old here, but it's fascinating to see how Calista takes after both of us in a way. I love how my mom made cupcakes for my first birthday too!
