The Pide Piper - aka Jeffrey K. Francer

Scott's friend Jeff came to visit for a couple of days after Christmas. We had such a blast and hope to see you soon! Scott, Jeff and I went out one evening to a Speak Easy (Bourbon and Branch) in San Francisco where you have to know the password to get in. So retro. Love it.

By the way -- Scott got me an amazing new digital camera for Christmas. Stay tuned for some artsy photos of Calista...

What a Life!

Calista takes a luxurious morning nap with Eloise on the 26th (thanks for letting us sleep!). Goes swinging with Scott and Jeff later in the day, and shakes her bootie to the rhythm of a ringtone. You go girl!

Calista's First Christmas!

Santa and his elves made for a very merry Christmas. We are especially grateful for the Brady elves who flew out for this occasion. Everyone made Calista's first Christmas very memorable (at least for us!) and we are so lucky to have such generous family and friends. Thanks everyone! Kudos to Gpa for teaching Calista how to do "high fives" too!

Christmas Eve

All through the house all the creatures were stirring...especially as Uncle Matt helped Calista eat her first black olive (traditional Christmas cuisine in both the Vannice and Brady households - OK Scott also made a delicious prime rib!) and the family played a rousing game of Taboo.

Christmas is Coming!

'Twas the night before Christmas Eve and the Bradys arrived...

And our tree with gifts galore...

Sister (aka Aunt) Kirsten

My sister flew out from the East Coast for my Aunt Lolita's memorial service, having returned from her internships in Africa just days earlier. Unfortunately my camera didn't have enough memory for photos of the service, but I did videotape it for my family. It was a very sad occasion, but hearing everyone's memories of my aunt was very touching, and certainly a reminder of how important it is to enjoy life to the fullest and appreciate our blessings. Now if we can only convince Kirsten to move to the Bay Area now that she's back from Africa...

By the way Calista is giving her aunt a kiss here!

Cookie Exchange Party

Some of my friends and their munchkins came over for a cookie exchange party. Everyone brought some delicious treats and left with an assortment of goodies.

Bath time for a naked wonder!

Our Holiday Party

Scott and I motivated and had a small champagne toast for the holidays with some friends. Here she is reading with Steff and Zach. And who could resist posting this fabulous photo of Sid with his home-made ugly Christmas sweater! Truly a classic. Calista is even applauding his efforts. :-)

Discovering the Christmas Tree

Fortunately for us, Calista was not very interested in the Christmas tree this year. Here's a rare moment where she acknowledges its presence. Then she goes back to her book - "Urban Babies Wear Black!"
