Happy Mother's Day from Calista

Happy (belated) Mother's Day to all you fabulous mommies!

Calista treated me to a great Mother's Day. First, she slept the entire time Scott and I had brunch at Chow. Then we had a fun time at the playground (we found a new one on Hoff Street in the Mission that is perfect for her age) and romped around the rest of the day. We got Thai takout for dinner so no cooking or cleaning -- hurrah. Thanks for pampering me Scott! I am one lucky mommy.

A Great Day: Heidi Visits and a Trip to the Zoo!

My friend Heidi was visiting from DC and stopped by for a quick visit and trip to the playground. It was sooo great catching up!

Afterwards, Calista and I went to the San Francisco Zoo, of which we recently became members so we can visit often. She was in heaven seeing the quack quack ducks and crawling through a little tunnel like a prairy dog. There is so much wide open space for her to run and walk, that it's a great place to take her at this age. We also saw the giraffe feeding, which was pretty fun to watch.

Meeting Roman

After brunch, Calista, Scott and I went to meet Roman, Scott's co-worker John's son. Roman is a cutie pie! Since they live around the corner from us, we hope we will see them much more. I am so happy our friends are having babies in the city! (I am also amazed at how big Calista looks in comparison -- could she really have grown that much in a year!?)

Brunch with the Girls

Calista and I went over to see Sara and her little boy Hunter, and Elizabeth and Jen. Once Calista woke up from her nap, she would not get off Sara's coffee table. (Sorry about that!) Hunter is such a sweet boy, and it made me recall the days when Calista was a baby -- she is such an active toddler now. Seeing Calista on the coffee table (sorry again) also made me remember my mom's stories of me climbing on coffee tables and dancing on stages. Something tells me little missy might have inherited a similar gene from me...

Playing with Daddy

Calista loves to help brush her hair, or Daddy's hair for that matter. You can hear her say "hi" in the first video, which may be her top favorite word to say. She says it every time we come home from work, every time we open up a drawer of her clothes (because she LOVES taking all her clothes out and trying them on) and basically every time she is excited to see us or something we are doing that she wants to be a part of. We love saying "hi" back to her too! She's also a really sweet girl when she gives kisses to us. (see second video). After a long day, nothing is better than a spontaneous kiss from this darling girl!

Quack Quack Duckies

Calista loves saying quack quack every time she sees a duck, be it in a pond, in a book, even a rubber duckie in her bath..or a pigeon for that matter! (Who can blame her...birds in this city definitely resemble some ducks!)

Growing Up...

Calista looks like such a little toddler in these photos to me! I especially love the photo of her with Scott's iPhone because she has a classic "Calista being serious" look on her face. She likes being silly too and putting her bucket on her head...so I guess you could say she's a multi-faceted girl.
